Cleaning Tips For Pet Owners

Having a pet at home brings us endless joy, but it also has its drawbacks, and one of them is that your house can become dirty more quickly. To prevent this from happening, here are some tips to keep your home clean with pets.

Daily Cleaning

While daily cleaning is essential, it doesn't have to be thorough. This can be just tidying up a bit, sweeping, and dusting. In order to breathe fresh air in the home, it is also recommended to ventilate the house daily by opening the windows. This will help to get rid of bad odors in the house.

Don't forget to clean your pet's bed and crate out frequently. That's where your pet spends the most time and is sure to be a great focus for dirt and fur.

The Vacuum Cleaner

If your pet tends to lose a lot of hair on a daily basis, it is recommended that you vacuum the floor and carpets often. With a parquet floor, you can wipe the mop moistened with a special product for that type of floor and catch all the hairs.

If you use the traditional broom to keep the house clean with pets, some of the dirt could remain on the floor. In order not to be vacuuming every day, you can also opt for a robot vacuum cleaner that can vacuum the home while you are away from home. Another option is a rubber bristle broom specifically for pet hairs that helps to better collect pet hair.

Furniture

Rugs and sofas are the elements of the home that more hairs accumulate and are difficult to clean. Be sure to dedicate more time to cleaning these areas.

Leather or faux leather sofas or armchairs are easier to clean with a soft rag. If you do not have a sofa of these two types at home, we recommend that you cover them with covers. Even if pets stain the covers, they can always be removed and washed.

Eliminate Odors

One step to eliminating pet odors in your house is to bathe your pets regularly. In veterinary clinics and pet stores, there are a variety of special pet cleaning products for the removal of strong odors. To avoid smelling bad again, bathe your pet every 15 days.

Owners with Allergies

Hair loss from pets can cause allergies in some people. Wash your hands after touching your pet and before touching your eyes or mouth. You can also use a hand sanitizer or antibacterial wipes.

Use anti-allergenic products for the mattress and pillow to sleep peacefully. Reduce the number of rugs in the home, especially in the bedrooms and living room which is where the most time is spent. Prevent your dog from entering certain rooms of the house to create allergy-free areas, for example, the bedroom.

Use vacuums with effective air filters to clean the air in the house. Use purifiers to reduce allergens and remove bad odors from home. Keep your house well ventilated throughout the year by changing out your furnace filters on a regular basis.
