How to Create Cleaning Schedules for the Whole Family

Spring is finally here! And so, it's time to start planning for some spring cleaning. Pick a day or two that works for everyone in your household and assign some age-appropriate chores for any younger kids who want to help out too. Putting this all together might seem complicated, but it's a lot easier than you may think! Here are some of the best ways to create a cleaning schedule that works for the whole family this spring.

Write Everything Down

Plan out the day first by writing down everything you know needs to be done. Which areas of your home were neglected the most during winter? Which chores do you think each person in your home can handle? Once this is mapped out, you'll have a better idea of where to start.

Assigning Chores

When it comes to getting everyone in your household involved, you should keep in mind each person's age and preference! Here are some suggestions:

Adults: The adults of the house can tackle the more complex cleaning tasks. For example, they can handle the bleaching and washing of the bathroom. Or special cleaning of hardwood floors, kitchen appliances, sinks, fridge cleanout, yard work, and decluttering of important rooms throughout the house.

Teens: Set your teen on some basic everyday chores such as vacuuming, organizing miscellaneous items around the house, sweeping, cleaning their room, helping with the laundry, and helping with any family pets.

Kids: The little ones in the house don't need to feel left out during spring cleaning! They can be encouraged to take on some simple tasks such as dusting, helping with the family pet, organizing toys and rooms, and deciding what toys they might want to give away this year.

And You're Good To Go!

Once you know what kind of chores everyone in your household can take on and what needs to be done, you can create your schedule from there! And remember always to make it fun. Play music while you work, or make a game out of it for the little ones. Anything you can think of that might make the day a little more exciting is a great way to ensure the whole family will be ready for spring cleaning again next year.

And don't forget to ask for help when you need it. If your air ducts need a complete cleaning, or your attic and crawlspace have seen better days after months of neglect, calling a professional is the best way to ensure you and your family breathe easier this year.

Go Green For St. Patrick's Day

Soon it will be time to celebrate the luck of the Irish, and do you know what follows soon after that? The celebration of our planet on Earth Day! Why not combine the two this spring and work on some positive habits that will promote green living. It's time to start adding some environmentally-friendly routines into your life and consider what kind of an impact you have on this beautiful world. Here are some easy ways to go green this season!

Invest in Reusable Bags

The popularity of plastic and paper bags at grocery stores and shopping centers has long passed, but there are still instances where they are used. We highly recommend you invest in reusable bags for everything! They can be washed and even personalized to match your personality. All in all, it's a great way to keep this planet free of plastic waste.

Recycle Used Bottles

We all know that Saint Patrick's Day is the day for celebrating through spirits and good fun, but make sure you dispose of those empty bottles properly after drinking them! Find a recycling center near you or a local store that takes care of recycling for you and brings everything there. There's no need to throw leftover bottles in your regular garbage can.

Benefits Of Going Outside in Spring

Most of us have been inside for the majority of this year. And although things are different now, there are still plenty of ways you can enjoy the outdoors safely and comfortably. From going on walks to trying some new forms of exercising, you can get a lot out of the nice weather that is coming soon. Here are some of the benefits to going outside in spring:

To Get Vitamin D

The days in winter are so short that our time in the sun feels like it’s cut in half. But, once spring starts to roll around, we begin to get some much-needed longer days. You can now spend some extra time in the sun, helping to increase your vitamin D levels. This helps increase your body’s growth, strengthen your bones, and reduce inflammation in some cases.

To Stay Active

Even if the world isn’t the same as it used to be, taking the time to walk or jog around your neighborhood is a great way to stay active. You can even try something new like going for hikes or kayaking in open water. It’s a great way to reconnect with nature after a long month of freezing temperatures. Everything is just beginning to bloom again, so you’re sure to see some beautiful sights while you’re on the move!

To Breathe Fresh Air

Staying inside all day working and not feeling or breathing fresh air can cause many more negative effects than you may think. Going outside often has been shown to reduce stress levels and help fight high blood pressure. Of course, this isn’t to say you need to go outdoors every day. It’s just important to remember on a nice sunny day to allow yourself to take a break and take some much-needed rest.

And if you want your indoor air to be as fresh as the outdoor air, it might be time for a proper cleaning throughout your home!

Cleaning and taking care of your home so that you can breathe easy again can be challenging to deal with, and it is often best to bring in some professionals to help. Contact GreenPro Cleaning and Restoration to take care of your ducts, attics, crawl spaces, and water damage needs.
